Target shooting is a fantastic community, family and social sport. Juniors, seniors, men and women all shoot competitively against each other and the club boasts competitive shooting members from 12 to 92 years old, no previous experience is necessary and all are welcome.

The Club has a dedicated team of coaches and instructors to help any new starters comfortably and safely take up the sport of target shooting. We shoot several disciplines at the club including Prone, Benchrest, Lightweight Sporting and Pistol, primarily in rimfire .22 but now, with the aid of a grant from the Sirius Minerals Foundation, with Air Rifles/Pistols and a non-projectile Laser Target System.

For new shooters we operate a coaching night every Monday (exc. Bank Holidays) from 7pm where you will be fully guided through all you need to know to start target shooting no matter what your previous experience may be. All coaching, shooting, target and safety equipment is provided within your membership price and there is no additional weekly charge except the ammunition you use. We can take juniors from the age of 12+. You are welcome to come on a Monday (exc. Bank Holidays) evening from 7pm for a tour of the shooting facilities. For more information please see the ‘How to become a member leaflet’ in the downloads section.

For new members with existing firearms licences and/or own equipment, after your probation period, the club will be available for you to shoot 7 nights a week all year round. The club stocks a good range of target and sporting ammunition and all ammunition must be purchased from the club. You are welcome to come on a Monday (exc. Bank Holidays) evening from 7pm for a tour of the shooting facilities. For more information please see the ‘How to become a member leaflet’ in the downloads section.

As well as individual and team internal leagues and competitions, shooting members compete in County, Inter-County and National leagues and competitions.

The club has 3 secure indoor target shooting ranges for use by members:

  • Range 1 - 25 Yards - Prone or Benchrest, Live Fire .22
  • Range 2 - 25 Yards - Prone or Benchrest Live Fire .22LR or Target Air Rifle
